Question Email notifications of subscribed threads going west

Sometimes they arrive; other times not.

I know you're supposed to activate the link and read the new post or you get no more notifications but even that isn't reliable.

Have checked the spam filter; that's not picking them up.

    ??

    Hi Ern

I'm not having that problem. I know if I am logged on and being active and have subscribed to a thread and the thread is being populated I keep getting emaill notifications as they are posted.

If I clear those emails and leave the computer for a half an hour or so and become inactive I will get one notification but there could several posts after that one but wont get any notifications until after I become active again on the forum.

And I thought it was just me.... I figured I must have lost a setting somewhere and I'd get around to it sometime... Its quite annoying, as I don't look if noones answered.

I don't know how others view threads or how often they log on but this is what I do.

I rarely miss a day logging in. I first go to my email and if there is any emails I usually open the first one from the forum and click on the link to that thread I've subscribed to.

After reading that I then click on "New Posts" and then I go through all the new posts pages reading the posts I am interested in and all the ones I have subscribed too if i haven't lost interest in them. That way i don't miss any of my subscribed post.

But as I said in my previous post I don't appear to have missed any notifications.

Maybe it is a setting some where.

In the User CP under edit options under "Default Subsciption Mode" in the drop down box I have clicked "Instant Email Notification".

Yeah, thats what I do too, Barry, but in the last week or so, I've stopped receiving any notifications. So I started this thread: http://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=53901
but haven't been getting any notifications when replies were posted, which isn't life threatening, but it makes it more difficult to get a "conversation" going.
