    Default Photo Upload Limit

I tried to upload a couple of photos today, but ran into difficulties.
I have 169 photos held on the Forum server.

Is it possible for me to copy the 169 back to my system, and then empty the allocation ?

The Forum is a wonderful facility and I do not wish to abuse the privilege.

    Keep well,
    John.

Tried again this morning without success.

From searches, it appears my 169 images should not exceed Forum limits.
I try to keep image size down to 200 kB, so my usage should be under 40 MB.

    Linux 64 bit,
    Lubuntu 22.04,
    Firefox 108.0.2,
both at the latest issued upgrades.

When I select: Manage Attachments - Add Files - Browse:
    - the File Manager does not open a window on the file system.

Upload has worked fine for me on successive versions of Lubuntu and Firefox over many years.
But: there has been re-vamps of Lubuntu and Firefox recently, so that could be the problem.
I will post a query on the Ubuntu Forum.

    Keep well,
    John.

Tried a second laptop with Ubuntu Mate and Firefox.

Uploaded image from a flashdrive OK.

Hints on the Ubuntu Forum that the latest Lubuntu upgrade has some problems.

Seems odd that it would be Ubuntu. Try Chrome and see if that works.

I don't know if there is a Forum image limit but why not delete a couple of biggies and then try to upload.

    Hi Guys,

I am running 64 bit PCLinux OS with Firefox V108.01 64 bit. There is no problem uploading pictures to the forum, however I don't think that you can delete them once uploaded.

I just looked and I think you are right. There was a comment about uploaded images that were not used within an hour being automatically deleted. That would imply that what you see is what is posted.

What exactly is the error when uploading?

    Edit: I see now

When I select: Manage Attachments - Add Files - Browse:
    - the File Manager does not open a window on the file system.

Have you tried deleting your browsing data?

    Hi Jack, Guys,

I've had that happen to me ! Its caused by one of the settings in Firefox, preventing external access to your file system. A pop up blocker.

If you click on the "Shield" on the Menu bar at the top, it will provide you with information about your settings.

Ah, so Chrome probably would have worked. I only use Firefox very occasionally so I am not familiar with its nuances.

    Thanks

Added the Forum address in the Firefox Allowed Pop-Ups setting.

    Could not upload image.

The Ubuntu Mate has the Firefox installed in some way, the Lubuntu Firefox is a snap run from a directory.
There was a hint of this being a problem in one of the comments in the Ubuntu Forum.

I will research installing Firefox in Lubuntu, and post in the Firefox and Lubuntu forums.
Been through a couple of similar issues over the years, it will get fixed.

    John.
