My Posts Aren't Appearing
I started a new thread in the Sheraton section, posted it and it doesn't seem to have been posted.
I've also had trouble replying in existing threads.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

The posts for new members are moderated.
Quite possibly they are 'in process'

Hi Chuff,
Welcome to the MetalWork Forums.
I am not surprised you can't see your post. Your first post was to ask about lathe jaws on 4th Nov 2021 2.56 PM.
Thats not a typical place I look in case new members have joined. But at that stage the post was visable to all.
When you posted for the second time on 7th Nov,2021 6.26PM your post had attached a bunch of photos.
At that point the auto moderation did not like that and made it so you were no longer visable. Its an anti spam device to stop people from joining and flood us with spam.Generally after 10 posts it sorts it self out or the mod would approve the poster for links and photos.
I saw your inquiry in post 1 and knew I would be welcoming you shortly.
In a perfect world new posters would introduce themselves in the Welcome wagon forum and I welcome them there as well as provide them with the advice on how to navigate and understand our forums as below.
You will find that there are plenty of members who have your same interests.
We have great bunch here very helpful and supportive of one another. You will find many like minded folk here with same interests as you.
If you explore our pages you will find bits and pieces of interesting things all over the place.
Go to the FORUM box at top LH corner and click on it.
A drop down menu appears and you can select Forum Home at the top of the drop down menu list. Scan down through the pages to look at what we have.
Please make sure read the Terms of Use -our Rules - at the top of the scroll down page- pretty standard for many forums these days.By joining the forum its automatic that they apply to you as a member.
Sometimes the soft ware works so you can't post pics or links until 10 posts are made ( or such links and pics are cleared by a mod)
Its anti spam thing.
There's a number of sub forums forum that might be parallel with your interest found as described above.
If any questions contact me via PM and I'll try to help you.

Hi Grahame,
Perfectly understandable about the way your forum works in order to minimize spam. There is nothing more annoying than idiots polluting valuable resources such as this.
Apologies for not introducing myself. I'm not really an enthusiast as I use the lathe only when I need to. As you would be aware having read my posts so far I'm simply in the process of repairing my lathe and seeking some parts and advice and knowledge along the way.
Unfortunately I have very little to offer with regards to lathes, as I know very little about them, but I am sure after a while of reading through some threads in this forum I will know a lot more than when I began.
In the meantime, I am a real person with no malicious intent. Please inform your anti spam bots accordingly.
Regards,
Chuff
