Unable to add post to thread; token has expired
I have written a long post to add to the M&G productions ER .........review. I pressed “submit” and assumed it had gone. Some time later I realised it was still sitting there waiting to be submitted but the bottom half was missing and an edit I had made further up was now unedited. What the? So I finished it again and pressed submit. Now I got a message saying I was not logged on although I had observed the option of “log out” shortly before. So I logged in and pressed submit and now I get a message that the token has expired and will I please return to the previous page where there remains the opportunity to submit except if I do the token has again expired and so it goes on.
What am I doing wrong? I am on an iPhone if that makes any difference.
Thanks,
Frustrated Hugh

Hugh,
If we are able to assist you to sort problems with any post it would help a lot when you post , to include
The Forum . ie General MetalWork, Projects, Welding.
The date posted
The title of the post
The OP -Original Poster.
Our haystack is very large and the needle is very small.
OK-Breaking News.I have had a look and found your post to- M&G Productions ER40 D1-4 chuck and collets, a brief review.which was moderated-
Meaning only I could see the post- Checking your last post(this one I am replying to) post I find it is moderated as well.
BUT!! when you posted you changed the title. When you are replying to an existing post DON"T CHANGE ITS TITLE. Leave it blank.
When you are the the original poster you put in a title. I don't know whether the iPhone created the moderation or changing the title caused the problem. I have twiddled the switch and pushed a knob in the backroom and maybe now you can see this post.
I have been into your post to MG etc and performed an edit (deleted it) the title you placed there- ER32 to D1-3, that might fix it. Otherwise I am guessing it is the Iphone causing problems.

As far as problems with posting with an iPhone -sorry can't help you there.

Thanks Grahame. That empty title box looked so inviting!

Thanks Grahame, yes it all seems fine and I have successfully posted since.
I had a reply to my question asking for comments about a supplier. The replier was not prepared to comment on communication with the company which has been covered in another thread by yourself by quoting the forum rules. I find the forum rules to be not crystal clear on this point. Would it be acceptable to politely and clearly state facts about suppliers without expressing an opinion?
Thanks, Hugh

The rule that affects this situation is pretty clear.
3.0 - Material you may NOT post
3.12 - naming companies or products involved in disputes or grievances (naming & shaming)
On the other hand should a poster not mention a name or product , but chooses to write about an experience with a particular unnamed company they have dealt its not hard to to work out who the company may be. That's if the readers back track to previous posts.
No (company) names , no product names, no opinions ,just the straight facts and no pack drill.
The readers can then make their own minds up on the situation.
It pays to remember that the forum takes advertising from various companies. That revenue helps support the forum.
Forums cost money to run and its not a good look for a member to berate a company who may well be supporting the forum through advertising.
As members we pay nothing so in some ways we might need not to say what we think on some occasions.

Thanks Grahame for that clarification. When you put those two points together like that it is very clear.
