I would say not, as they create more trouble then they are worth.

One of the few places I would like a "dislike" button for is this thread

    I think you got Buckleys'.

I visit other forums using the same VBulletin format and have never seen a dislike button in any of them.
To explain further, I suspect that a dislike button is not in the VBulletin template.

Just wait for someone to reply with a dissenting opinion to what you dislike and like that.

Here on the MWF we prefer to solve our disagreements passive aggressively

There is a dislike button bu we don't use it on here or WWF because of the problems it can create and has in the past when it was originally used a number of years ago.

Not everyone takes negative reactions well, eg Dislike. Not all (normally) sane and rational people react well to dislikes. We have had members go right off the deep end after receiving a dislike, causing flaming wars with with other members behind the scenes then spilling over onto the forums and eventually leading to good long time members leaving the forums.

Often the dislike was used by members who just didn't like or agree with another member. They trolled the member and posted dislikes on everything the other member posted.

Also creates major headaches for admin and mods to try and calm down or sort out the problems.

Hope members are getting the picture as to why we don't use dislikes any more.

    Cheers - Neil

Nup, it's usually on full moon or just before or just after. That's about the same time the nutters come out and Dislikes used to begin to fly around.

I suppose a workaround is to write something negative and people can like that.

perhaps a better way of putting it is write a "constructive criticism" . . . . and others can like that or make other suggestions.

You haven't been a member long enough.

Early 2000's. Caused lots of problems on WWF, long before MWF went out in its own.
    Once bitten twice shy.

    NEVER AGAIN!
