    Default Uploading picture only basic uploader works

    I have a problem, it is most likely a browser problem...

    When uploading pictures is done in the usual manner, I click upload and just get a red error circle in the box..

    Basic uploader works fine..

    Any ideas where to look to fix the problem?

    Using firefox browser..

    HI there

    Would it be possible to take a screen shot of the error and send it to us or post it here?

    cheers

    Just letting you know i'm still looking out for a solution to this. I'm leaning toward it being something at your end purely because we'd be overrun with complaints if uploading broke

    In the meantime, can you try a couple of things;

    1. Make sure your firefox installation is up to date
    2. Test a different browser on the same computer
    3. In firefox, disable all plugins and if you can upload an image, re-enable them one at a time and maybe you'll identify the problem plugin.

    regards

    Turns out it is my firewall causing the problem..

    Eset Smart Security..

    If I disable the firewall everything works..

    I run Eset Smart Security, it is an integral firewall and antivirus...... I run manual filtering so when a program requests access to the internet up pops a prompt unless the firewall has a specific rule made up..

    Apparently I had denied Flash from incoming connections while allowing outgoing connections... Apparently uploading photo's using the advanced uploader required flash to have access to incoming connections.. While the basic uploader does not..
