    Default Frontpage Layout Weirdness...help!

Ok, so I read the forums every day, usually twice a day, it keeps me kinda sane to read about things when I can't do them while my shed status is "in preparation"!

Today I am having a problem with the forum front page. Usually the whole of the front page fits to the size of my laptop screen; so I can see all the information in a single view. Today , for some reason beyond my undertanding, I have to use the scroll bars (left and right) to view the entire text. This is really frustrating as it takes an age to read everything. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

    many thanks

Thanks Joe, but that issue you have linked me to is not the problem I am having. Coincidentally I did try altering the resolution but all I got was terrible image quality without doing any thing to alter or fix my problem.

Perhaps I havn't explained it well enough. I'll try again.

When I first open the forums the forum front page now displays as if I need a monitor quite a bit larger than my laptop screen to see the entire detail. What used to happen was that the descriptor information in the boxes describing the functions of the various sub-forums would "wrap" so that I could see the rest of the information; last post details, number of threads and total number of posts. Now that information is way off the side of the screen. So now I have to scroll all the way across to see it. This is irritating and time consuming.

In the sub forums themselves this doesn't happen. The text in the description boxes "wraps" so that I can see all the details on my screen. It seems that a different "style" may have been applied to the the front page recently which has not been applied to the sub-forums.

Is there a way this can be fixed?

Default Perhaps sponsor banners are the problem?

I just had a careful look at the forums trying to see where things may have changed. It seems that "woodworking general" has three sponsor banners that are formatted to be on the same single line rather than stacked under one another. It seems to be the width of this line which is defining the width of that column and therefore pushing the information I need to see off the edge of my screen.

Is it possible for someone to go into the layout and fix this so that they stack?

    Gooday Horaldic.

The 3 banners appear alright on mine side by side.

Clear your cache and see if that does any thing.

Bloody Internet Explorer................. Get Firefox and dump IE and you won't have problems like this.

Seems to work fine with all browsers except IE.

I'll fix it soon...... Bloody Explorer.

There won't be a problem on anything more than a small screen. havbe done a dozen tests and for some reason IE won't resize the table the 3 banners are in. All the other browsers will but not IE.

Should be able to resize the page and have the 3 banners line up below each other. Stupid, stupid, stupid IE.

    Default Thankyou!

Thanks for this, I'm at work tonight but I'll enjoy it as soon as I get home to my trusty laptop.
