The slicer error you got wouldn't be because of my bad "sweeps" would it? (half a thread is below the bottom face, there is a box somewhere I am not ticking, but with simplify you can just lower the part "through the bed" as it were until the face you want is on the bed.

I actually dissected/cut the lower part in PrusaSlicer, this stopped the first layer extrusion errors but still messed up the slicing and filled the part up:

Score 1 for Fusion360 and 1 for me.
The 1" thread is much nicer than mine, about 0.5 larger in dia and the correct profile, but the 5/8 is about 1.2mm smaller in dia and doesn't even look like starting.

All good as you can see the threads aren't doing the sealing in this case.

Strange, with any luck next time I do something like this it will just work and I'll never know what I did wrong
