Default Redback 2 Delta 3D Printer

    Anybody know anything about these?
They seem to be cira 2014 and made in Australia.

A mate has one he wants to offload.

Not the best one to get as a first one, but 'gift horse' and all that....lol

I'm assume lots of tinkering will be required. Maybe a new control board. Can't imagine it would be 32 bit.

Can't find hardly any info on them. Think I found 1 pic. Its like its a Secret Club all the owners belonged too...lol

I've never heard of them but being a Delta printer is one positive about it.

    Does it use 3mm filament?
If so them there are less varieties of filament readily available in that size.
On a popular 3D printing supplier's website I frequent I note they offer 27 different PolyLactic Acid (PLA) filaments in 1.75mm, and only 5 in 3/2.85 mm

What sort of software does it come with?
I notice that there is no Redback listed on the standard list of printers that can use the free Ultimaker Cura Slicer software, one of the most popular slicer software packages out there.

2014 is a long time back as far as 3D printers go. It was probably a decent printer in its time but there are a lot of little things that could go wrong with 3D printers that will frustrate the hell out of you and prevent you from getting up to speed with this.

Knowing this guy, it has probably been updated with improvements, if there are any.

I will have to go over it and see what I have and go from there.

All this started because I asked him to do a little job for me....He must prefer to give me a printer instead....
I'll give him some dollars anyway.

Yeah, your right It is....I should have tried that. Didn't even cross my mind.
I looked...still not much info or its all from 2014.

I guess the structure is all there. Maybe it might just need a newer control board. Won't know until I get it.
