LEGS - Sheraton Model C 9 inch metal lathe
Was wondering if anyone else has these cast legs on their lathe?
Does anyone know if there were rods between the legs or if there were cast wheels attached near the bottom? (hook)

Looks like they could be for treadle operation?

Looks like a bar was between half way up, but I doubt they had wheels, more likely for a treadle as suggested or maybe a foot brake.
Have you been on that site in the UK I think it is, where he lists all the different lathes and mills, Tony I think I remember his name was.
He usually shows all the models on there, if you're legs are something different, he will put them on his site as well.Using Tapatalk

Just to add, I joined the Sheraton Yahoo group 6 months ago because I have a taper attachment here I'm fitting to my 12x36 lathe and found out through a Google search it looked exactly like a Sheraton one.
I'm not 100% it is, as mine has all metric threads.
Some very knolagable people in that group, so maybe try there as well.Using Tapatalk

UK Lathes - response
Hello James,
Thank you for your message.
The only Sheraton legs that I know about are here: Sheraton Lathe - South Bend Copy & Conquest
I doubt very much that the Sheraton was ever offered on a treadle stand - but it may have been the case. The legs look more like those found on a Drummond M-Type lathe - or even an earlier Drummond http://www.lathes.co.uk/drummond/img18.jpg
More likely this later one: http://www.lathes.co.uk/drummond-m-t...-1924/img0.jpg
My thanks,
Tony.
