Cheers Steve - I appreciate the knowledge.
I have decided that I am going to use a trailer due to the very CoG issues you are talking about. I also thought back to when I filled the bed up with 2 layers of pavers and saw the s'pension sag VERY low. Kryn previously offered the loan of his trailer although dragging an empty trailer 1400km seems silly but then what is the risk of booking/using a uHaul PPP (potential piece of poo)? I will give him a ring tomorrow.......

A massive public thank you to Kryn (KBs PensNmore) for the loan of his trailer to collect my new toy.....very generous indeed. The LPG BF ute towed it well but I managed to freeze the LPG converter 3 times from pushing the car too hard (who would have thought 110km/h up a hill will 2000kg+ towed behind would stress the car that much!). All good, 5 minutes to thaw and off we went again.
Getting the granite surface plate off the trailer involved hiring a Kennard gantry crane. 1500kg limit however it was all aluminium!!!!! Didn't see an ounce of flex. Bought a couple of new slings but they were too short so I linked the 2 together and used a 2500kg ratchet strap on the other end......yes yes I know they are not rated for lifting but it was all I had. I lifted it off the trailer, lowered it back down having realised it had over 200kg of various metal parts siting in the lower tray, lifted it back up then waited. All was good so I drove the trailer out from under it then quickly lowered it to the ground. Probably the most stressful thing I have done for ages!!!!

Glad to see and hear that everything went well with the trip, apart from the gas freezing up.
