Default Lathe HARRISON 165 made 1970 wiring

    Hello,
I own a lathe HARRISON 165 years of production 1970. Stopped turning on, the emulsion pump motor is running. Main switch OK, all switches on the front OK. Question, maybe someone has a wiring diagram of this machine, thank you for your attention

    Welcome to the forum

If the lathe was running and now stopped, it is unlikely to be because of a wiring issue. A couple of things to check (and unplug/ isolate the lathe before you do any of this)
    • There may be some fuses somewhere. If the coolant pump runs but the main motor does not, that could be a fuse
    • Again, checking the power is off, measure the resistance across the motor coils. It should be the same on all three coils and more than likely of the order of ohms.

Thank you for the reception, respect
In the beginning there were days when he did not want to get involved, later more and more often. When I press -On- I hear the contactor -click-, not now. The -On- switch has no execution even if it is correct. I wanted to know which contactor is responsible
The main 4KW electric motor is ok. I guess the installation is broken. I would also like to know if any of these contactors have an E-stop function

    Hi Zoranjag,

    Welcome to the forums !

Those on/off switches often become intermittent before failing, though one of the contactors could have had a coil failure. If the coolant pump is running then its not likely to be the on/off switch unless it has a separate switch.
    Best Regards:

    Zdravo!

    1) I believe the motor contactors do have an E-stop function,
but I can't see which wires+contactor implements it.

    2) Does the motor properly work in reverse?
If so, that would indicate a fault with the "FWD" contactor
(the two contactors on the top have labels "FWD" and "REV")

    3) Does this lathe have a two speed motor?
If so, try it in the low speed setting, as well as the high speed.

    4) The on-line manual ( https://ia601004.us.archive.org/34/i...65%20model.pdf )
lists a transformer for some markets.
On some lathes, a failing transformer prevents the contactors from switching properly.

An electrician should be able to test the contactors
(e.g. using a voltmeter to measure any voltage drop across them,
when they are under load driving the motor)

Thanks everyone, thanks for the manual. I will report what was the fault after checking all contactors and cables. I wish you a successful day

    Solved,

Thank you, you were right. It's a bad contact in the switch.
