ecogoo ......again
Has any one fitted a on/off switch across X1 and 24v
if so what codes have you altered and what are they to get it to work.
The VFD works fine...from the key board, but I cant get it to start from a remote start switch
this was easy on the Teco's

I just did it the other day with the rapid feed on my DSG lathe.
Not at home for a couple of days so don’t have my notes, but from memory…
It’s termed 2-wire control. There is an example in the manual that shows fwd on X1, rev on X2 and the other terminal is COM
Can’t remember the codes but
- set the general control input to terminal
- set X1 to FWD (it’s the default)
- set X2 to REV (again - I think it’s the default)
- set the terminal control mode to 2-wire.
Close the switch to connect X1 to COM and it should run FWD and then stop when you open the switch and break the circuit.
Likewise with X2 if you’ve set it up should run in rev and stop when you break the circuit.
Steve.

Thanks Steve...when you say COM do you mean 24v?

The COM terminal is the far RH lower terminal of the 2 rows.
Not sure what voltage it is, but doesn’t matter in that setup as it’s just the common reference for the other terminals.
If that’s not what you’re after then apologies for the bum steer!!

Good that you’ve got it sorted.
I’m guessing it’s just a physical thing with the PCB to have the COM terminal located there.

These cheapie Ecgoo 9100 VFD are brilliant for the money...(Caveat.... assumes it goes a far distance)
I had to use a 3ph ext cord to run the RepcoPower surface grinder which was a pain (the grinder sits on a movable bech/table). I bought a small Teco VFD ages ago and was going to fit one to the SG, but I would have had to remove motor and get it configured to Delta.
Then saw the posts on these 1ph 240v to 3ph 380v vfd and thought I would give it a try.
Easy now, all I need to do is run out the extra long 1ph lead..... hz set at 60.
Had a hi pitch whine on the motor so set carrier hz to 15....cant hear it now.
Also fitted a EMI filter to SG, the woodfast lathe and waldown drill press and I can now listen to the radio while all are running....no freeking static ....hoooray!!!

You fellas have saved me yet again. The weather is not real pleasant, stormy rain with sunny bits then cooler temps and wind then rain....you know. Anyway as usual I was not wondering what job to do next because I have a very full "to-do list". Some time back I bought a VFD off a Forum member and put it on a new 3ph motor from an Ebay seller. I was really impressed with the motor, it has a very nice design and looks good too. Being a little dumb (in my old age) I took the VFD and the motor up to a mate's place (another forum member) for him to configure the VFD to the motor. No problem at all for Vern. Came home and fitted it to my old Metal Lathe and was very happy with the new edition.
Some months back I decided to put a VFD and new 3ph motor on my home made Wood Lathe. Mainly to get an optimum speed to individual pieces that I work on. With timber some times a single speed may not be quite right, be it too slow or too fast. (do you remember that nursery rhyme and the 3 bears?). I have had the new motor and Eco-goo VFD waiting around for its configuration to be done. With Co-vid and other priorities months have gone by and nothing done on the VFD. I read the very scant brochure (you can't call it a manual) that came with the VFD but the dumbness came to play again. My brain has a lot of trouble reading directions then trying to make the read wording put into practice. With this particular thread unfolding over the last few days......I thought "what can go wrong?". so this arv I took the brochure out to the shed and connected up the appropriate wires and the thing ran.....but I want more.....a separate switch to start and stop the same as what Vern did on the initial Metal Lathe set up. I read and reread the remarks between Steve and the Eskimo and did some more wiring and guess what I got the thing to work with the separate switch, then programmed for higher frequency than the default setting.
You fellas have given me some confidence to do these adjustments on my own and I am very grateful. That "dumbness" I mentioned has been a curse with me my whole life. If I could look over some ones shoulder while they are doing a task I can usually imitate that task. I am a Carpenter by trade but can do many other skills due to my looking over shoulders all my life.
A dear old Tradesman I was working with when I was an Apprentice told me that if you can read a plan, measure and set out a job/article you can work in any medium.....Timber, metal, glass, concrete, gyprock plastering etc etc. You just need what ever means of cutting the material in question. When I was working building kitchens, I would not only do the installing of the cupboards but also move/add power points, even do the plumbing. Later when I worked for myself I would even do tiling as well.Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

I agree. They’ve been a real game changer for me.
I think it’s still cheaper to use a 220v VFD if the motor can be easily converted at the terminal block, but these things are just so easy it’s almost a case of why bother….
I’ll have to have a crack at the carrier frequency change on a couple of mine too - and see if it quietens the whine.

I now have 4 VFD's , Drill press, woodlathe and belt grinder...all of which have Teco VFD's but no whine at factory default of 5
the SG has the ecogoo which I ended up setting at 15...didnt try any other setting
so this makes me wonder if its a VFD/Motor thingy?..eg not quite compatible sort of thing?

I just had ago at the 4KW unit. Using the first diagram below with the parameters next to it except for P3.02=0 as I do not need to run in reverse.
VFD9100Series_Page_46.jpg
The button on the left is NC and that connects to X4. The button on the right is NO and that connects to X1.

If you are using the toggle switch then I believe it would be something like the diagram below.
