    Default 240V Light Extension/Connectors

    Good Morning All,

Does anyone know what these light extension/connector cords are called?
I need longer ones to connect my lights up.

This is the product I have:

I've bought three for my shed and they're great but the connector cables are too short to link them together. I've emailed the supplier and they originally

got back to me saying they'll have a look but nothing heard since last week. I'm hoping to buy something off ebay.

    Thanks Ben.

They look like C8 or figure 8 cable connectors but have a preferred orientation so I would think again before using a standard C8 connector.
Also not all C8s are the same.
Our camping fridge/freezer use a similar Plug/socket to your lights and I balked at paying $40 for a replacement and tried to use a standard C8 socketed cable but it damaged the fridge/freezer plug and had to have that replaced and then but the $40 replacement cable

If it was me and I couldn't find any I would splice standard figure 8 cable into those extension cords.

They are so close. But, yep I need male to female. At least I have something to start looking with.

I'm tempted to make up my own cables as well.

    Thanks Ben.

Point of technicality, they are female-female. The contact connected to the wire defines its gender, not the housing.

They are also not the correct connector, they are IEC C7 fig 8 connectors which the Verbatim lights are not. The C7/C8 are rounded body, the lights are square body with radius corners. The connectors on the lights are more like the connectors on old tape decks from the 70’s (sadly I’m old enough to remember those)

Yes 100% right - they are male/male and not quite the right shape didn't really look that hard - my T5 LED's use C7/C8 type connectors which are quite common - I assumed they would be the same.

Depending on how long you want, just buy a couple of 600mm tubes to act as links / extenders..

    Hi Ben, Guys,

I would be inclined to buy some loose re-wireable connectors and a spool of suitable cable ! Then you could make the cable as long as you wanted.
    Best Regards:
