Motor fan
I bought a B56 3 phase 0.4kW 6 pole motor today, and will be wiring it into a VFD.
The star/ delta connection was not at all what I was expecting -

Although for a motor of this power, probably a good and cheap way of doing things (I expected little brass or copper jumpers).
My concern at the moment is the fan. There are a few blades missing so a replacement could be in order. As I will be using the VFD to change speeds, an independent fan could well be the go. Controller spec is frequencies 1 to 400Hz, but it will depend on how the motor responds. Says he dreamily, it would be nice to get at least 10:1 out of it - say 12 Hz to 120Hz (the output will be further geared down and the load slight, so I'm not expecting torque to be an issue).

My very quick inspection does not show any obvious attachment method.
Does anyone know whether these are just a press on thing (looks like a mashed on plastic key)?
Probably won't go this way but are replacements likely to be available?
Michael

∆-Y wiring Looks pretty standard to me.
Those fans usually are a press fit. Hot air cut can help.
If you can't find a replacement it's pretty easy to make your own fan from a bit of sheetmetal and a turned boss

Hi Michael, Guys,
Those plastic fans, mostly just pull off, the Brooks motor one has a long grub screw in it biting the shaft on a flat.Best Regards:
