I finally got back to it and installed the CRO to look at a possible "back EMF feed" as the coil relaxes into the bridge rectifier... and exactly as I thought the bloody thing was holding it's release voltage through the bridge... sort of a closed loop if you will. Another relay switching the output from the bridge to the coil, and it stops on a bloody dime now! i cut a 2mm pitch up to the shoulder the other day (on low spd) and stops instantly! Higher speeds take longer..as you would expect.
Just thought I would let you know if resolved

BTW... have you ever had to get any parts for your Anyark? If so from where... need a new quill nut.

Note that those clutches have to be adjusted for correct clearances as per the manual
