    Default Centroid Acorn CNC controller

Anyone using this hardware and software , coming from Mach3 or 4?
I'm tired of Mach 3 and not sure I want to try Mach 4......Might try something different.....

It sounds pretty like its pretty comprehensive and capable hardware.

I have no direct experience, but i did look at one of their controllers for my cnc bridgeport i had, as they are a popular refit in the USA. I was pretty keen until i shelved the project. Their main market is industrial machines so i would expect them to be a lot better than mach3.

    Thanks Snapatap,
It certainly is worth a look.
I'm a bit surprised no-one else has chimed in to say they are using it, yet. Maybe the cost is a bit high for most hobbyists.

    I'll keep reading.

Seems to be well regarded from mentions I've seen at CNCZone.

Mach3 is well and truly outdated and buggy.

Haven't heard a lot of love for Mach4.

UCCNC gets mentioned a fair bit https://cncdrive.com/UCCNC.html

I use LinuxCNC with Mesa hardware boards. E.g. 7I76E picture

    Thanks Pip,

I saw video today that outlines some options. its 4 years old, but still seems to have usefully info.

    Ends up on Masso.
I had seen that one before but had forgotten about it.

PS Just realised that Masso is Australian...good stuff.

I might have to run a poll to see what the spread is.

Not sure if you have actually made the purchase yet but a few months ago I purchased a Foincnc M350 4 axis all in one controller, mine has been rebranded as DDCS Expert, cost was around $450 which included the power supplies and a hand held MPG - looks to be similar to the Masso not made in Oz but in China, has a 7 inch screen - programmable function keys and multiple in/outs - has an active Facebook group moderated by the factory. I'm converting a manual mill and so far have only finished the Z axis so haven't had a chance to try any cutting yet.

I have actually taken a change in direction.
I have put a deposit on a 6090 a company in Perth is importing, and it comes with an Offline Controller similar to yours, I think?
    It's DDCSV3.1.

I believe the DDCS V3.1 pre-dates the DDCS Expert, there is an active Facebook group and it is at least worth a look, you may want to join the group (4) Digital Dream PLC CNC Controllers | Facebook. Good luck with your router, I'm going to pick up my mill table today, I needed a few mm machined from all sides of the X axis leadscrew channel to provide clearance for the ballscrew nut and had to farm it out, while it seems like there is not that much to do to finish my conversion I know from experience that it's going to take longer than I thought, then on top of that there is the 3D CNC learning curve.
