    Default Teeny, tiny, CNC lathe

While searching around for a small lathe to create vintage carburettor jets, we saw this CNC toy:

    • 30cm x 20cm x 20cm footprint.
    • 10kg
    • 4000RPM, tool changer (6 in a turret)

    At $1350, almost tempting!
(but direct bank transfer to someone in Turkey sounds risky)

The cheapest other new desktop CNC lathes I have seen are:

    • CNC180, from $4847 plus shipping from China https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000689649998.html

    • CNC210G, from $6813 plus shipping ,, ,, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/402196260.html

Did you see shipping cost for the other two links?

Talk him into using PayPal. Direct bank transfer to a foreign country is very expensive (US$60 last time I did - plus a US$10 fee at their end - he won't be pleased!....)
Then you have the protection of PayPal if something goes wrong.....
    Looks like a ripper!
Oh, btw, 10kg is within the normal range of postal services in both countries. So should be fine.
    Cheers, Joe

CNC180 weighs 90kg, they are charging $3921 via EMS.

CNC210 weighs 210kg (?), they are charging $3303 via China Post Air Parcel.

If I was serious about either, I could go to AliBaba and talk direct to the manufacturer, but last time I tried that (for QCTP set), shipping was equally unreasonable.

I'm not serious about them, because they are just crappy mini lathes in a big box with a few motors (and offline controller, electrical 4way toolpost, and coolant for the larger one).

The little toy, though, is actually version 2 of a purpose built CNC machine.
Only an alloy slant bed, but the tool changer looks nice?

The tiiny lathe is. Actually pretty neat and. I just so happen to be selling a small CNC lathe soon. A slant bed English made boxford 125.
BETTER TO HAVE TOOLS YOU DON'T NEED THAN TO NEED TOOLS YOU DON'T HAVE

While I consider Andre's Boxford, AliExpress mails me about a cheaper 180mm swing lathe:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32962827390.html

Another crappy little CNC conversion of a desktop lathe.

    $3,231, plus $896 shipping (for a 145kg gross weight).
Compared to the shipping for the other two, a bargain!

Its almost like they invent the shipping quotes?
