Default Opinions on Sharpening Router Bits?

Is it really a viable option, especially for bits with a specific diameter such as 3/4 or 1/2 inch? How can they be sharpened without affecting their diameter?

Yes it is viable (and very common), yes it affects the diameter, you just change your tool offset to allow for it.

If the cutter has a "flat" , and a lot of them do then a diamond file can be uses provided the cutter is not too far gone.
