CNC plasma table anywhere near Central Victoria?
Do we have any members or their friends with a CNC plasma table willing to do some cutting of 2 or 2.5mm steel sheet?
I want to cut a pile of 'Kantwist' type clamps (just the sides). If that person wants to part of the collaborative project, I'm happy to ' pay' in suitable steel....
Cheers

I’m not sure of anyone personally but there’s a few engineering businesses in Shepparton or Bendigo that probably have one. Or are you trying to do a “mates rates” type of deal? No judgement if you are, it definitely makes things more affordable

Hi Joe,
A group 'Kant Twist' clamp project sounds interesting.
What size(s) do you have in mind?
Cheers,
Bill

Just found some instructions on how to make them without using any CNC - or other machine tools at all.....
That would be an interesting group build:

Hi Joe,
My eyesight is fading with age; but that youtube example certainly looks like crap.
Some of my scrap pile looks to be better quality material.

Joe, I don't think you could work as rough as the bloke in the vid. Obviously quality is not a concern of his. It is good for the "concept" though
Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

FWIW, I've been meaning to make some up for a while, so got off my bum have a couple being laser cut now from 3mm plain steel.
Its working out at around $3 per plate, so $12 per clamp (includes material). I inquired about per-part costs reducing for a larger order, but it won't reduce as there's no setup cost involved - just cutting and material.

Kant Clamps.
Hi Guys,
I did a write up on how I made mine. I've just done a search through my pictures on the forum to find that a number of them relating to this post are now missing !

These are laser cut from 3 mm sheet. Be aware that the edges may be very hard. I took off the sharp bits with my DE grinder.Best Regards:

Hi Greolt.
Thanks for the offer! What software do you use to drive your plasma?
Any photos of your setup? I'm actually contemplating building one for myself.... but it is down the list a bit....Cheers, Joe
