Default 3 incidents in 3 days.

Monday I took a small CO2 cylinder(C-size - it's the one we use for our sparkling water supply) to get replaced. Normally I stand gas cylinders in the back of my van strapped to the cargo barrier with a ratchet strap. This time the 4WD was in front of the Van on the driveway so I put it behind the drivers seat and when I got to the store I open the back door and the bottle fell out and I stupidly stuck my left leg out hoping to break its fall onto the concrete car park. Well, it managed to remove a 5c patch of skin where I bleed like a stuck pig but it also left a bruise that makes it still painful to walk 4 days later.

On Wed I was looking for something on a crowded shelf about head height in the shed and I'd forgotten I'd placed up there two 9 1/4" circular saw blades. I moved a piece of junk and and both blades rolled out. The still good blade landed on the floor breaking off two CT teeth and the other one (with a couple of missing teeth - why do i keep this rubbish!) hit my leather shoe and punctured a neat hole in the leather but did not break skin. I was probably lucky it was "blunt as".

Yesterday I was using my cheap digital callipers while turning and I stupidly balanced them on the edge of the lathe chip tray. I then noticed the chip tray was filling up with coolant and it had about 5mm of fluid in it. I stopped the lathe and looked over the back to see what was blocking the exit hole and bumped the calliper with my hip knocking it into the coolant without me realising it. By the time I noticed it the whole calliper innards was full of coolant because when I picked it up it continue to dribble out for some time. And of course then it would not work. Last night I took it apart and cleaned it and now it sort of works OK but I'm not sure I can trust it. I'm going to buy an IP67 rated calliper for lathe work and relegate the old one to the electronics bench.

SWMBO reckons I should take the rest of the week off.

Oh Bob.....your tale of woe is very familiar to me. If there is something to trip over especially after lunch (when I am tired) I will find it. I put something down to get some thing to go with it then I can't find the first thing.....it just goes on and on. I think it is the result of getting old.

Its damned annoying that's for sure
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

Better spend the week end in bed.
