Default making an alaskan uhu knife accident

started making this Alaskan ulu knife today from an old saw blade, all was going well except the sanding belt caught on the edge and threw the knife back at me , cut an artery in my wrist and a large cut longways down my thumb. (warning gore alert)......bob

    Ouch

    Hope you heal quickly.

Reminds me to make sure my wound dressing pack is where it is supposed to be.

Not good, hope you heal soon.
It's not foolproof but I have a rule about not sharpening something like that until it has a handle - even a basic one - to be able to hang onto.
