Default mutter mutter Youtube mutter mutter

Youtube did a recent upgrade to cope with improving video standards but also changed the layout, so that when you are logged in, comments are on the side and thumbnails underneath (as opposed to the old display, and the way when you are not logged in of comments underneath and thumbnails down the side). I find the new layout visually confusing and cluttered as they are cramming a whole lot more into the same screen area.

I've been in touch with Google and they have said to please submit feedback (bottom right of the page when you are logged in) so that it is brought to the developer's attention, which I've done. They also asked if anyone else does not like the new layout, can they also submit a feedback report. I guess the more that do that, the more likely they will fix it (I hope just by putting a toggle so that the display can be switched back - but we will have to wait and see).

Interestingly, I have logged into YT and viewed your site and am still seeing the comments under the main video with the thumbnails on the RHS.
I have tested using Safari and Firefox so far. What browser are you using Michael?

I'm using Firefox. The person I was speaking to said it was an upgrade to the main viewer, so if you haven't seen it yet, I would not count on it not happening.

Sorry I missed this topic. I found a simple hack to opt-out of the change, it was a setting in the browser, nothing funky. Iíll dig it up tonight when I get home.

It reverted back (at least on this computer - haven't checked others) to something like the original layout a few days ago. I suspect that there was enough negative comment to make them change it back.
Thanks to those who sent feedback.

ok. well it was simple, but required ublock origin which I run anyway. just insert one line of code. I'll take it out and see if its back to normal.
