Default If coffee machines and toasters weren’t enough :)

Saw a recent announcement by LittleMachineShop and they have released their latest designs for the mini mill and mini lathe.

I know most members are rocking big boys toys on this forum but imagine your mill with a glass screen or led display or a tablet.

I bet you can even watch youtube videos on the tablet while doing your machine projects

I was hoping they would stiffen up the design or add some kill features like power feeds but it seems all they have done is focus on making a consumer appliance with a bling factor.

The design is elegant enough to mount it on the kitchen counter

    Hi Kafie, Guys,

They have simply added "Touch DRO" to the machines !

I was more focused on the glass panel on the front and shiny speed control knobs

The touch dro has been around for a while now and I personally like that technology and where that is heading.

However, I wonder how long that Android tablet on the mill will last where it is currently mounted right behind the drawbar (not shown in the photos I have attached) that needs a soft wack to release the taper from the spindle

I also forgot to mention that there is a spare USB port to charge your phone

    Hi Kafie,

That mill has a soft release drawbar, it doesn't need a hammer, just a spanner/wrench.

    Yes, you are right.

I take back what I said. It does have an alternative release mechanism without the old fashioned drawbar method.

I just saw it a while ago and didn’t do much reading on it and shared my first impression.

Actually ArcEuro also has a newer SX2PG model that comes with 2 gas struts instead of what one gas strut that LMS.

But ArcEuro is not offering the soft release mechanism or the fancy glass panel or the Touch DRO and it may just be proprietary to the version sold by LMS.

But one would think after all the years the mini mill has been around and the numbers they have sold to people starting into the hobby, is this the best they can come up with?

    Hi Kafie,

Its the old "Lipstick on a Pig" scenario !

Add a bit of bling and people will ooo and arr...

But its good for extra profit ! I wonder how much Yuri is getting out of it ?

I am not sure if Yuri was ever compensated but he did release the source code so he knew that from start. I am assuming the most he got was a few dro readers to test for compatibility.

I wouldn't mind a coffee machine attached to my cold saw. Automatically kicking in as I engage a larger cut. You beaut !
