Default Whipper snipper plastic line problem fixed

Over in the 3d printer forum BobL was mentioning how the plastic filler cable can absorb moisture and mess up his 3d filler feeding printing process.

In my case the whole thing is reversed.

The comment reminded me of what the owner of the shop said when I purchased my whipper snipper ( line trimmer to you yanks ). I was complaining that the line is weak as pee and snaps of far too easily.

His reply was to suggest I soak the cable in a bucket of water 24 hrs before I used it. I just chuck the entire roll in bucket of water.

Well knock me down with a feather. It works for me. He could sold me more cable but instead chose to look after me as a customer.

Naturally I now patronise his shop when ever I have a mower or whipper snipper related purchase.

I hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Very Interesting Grahame but it makes sense that it would make it more flexible.

This reminds me of the half a dozen, half used rolls of 3mm 3D printer filament I had for my old printer that I sold on on gumtree. My new printer uses 1.75mm filament so I could not use it. After I sold the printer I realized I should have just given the filament to the young chap that bought the printer but I no longer had his contact details so I decided to sell the rolls on Gumtree.

After two weeks ZERO interest so I had in mind to use the filament as whipper snipper filament but it would take me years to use up as I only use about 5m a year. Anyway I readvertized the rolls and threw in an extension cord roll holder that 3D filament rolls could fit on and they sold within the hour.
