12 Month Eye check !
Hi Guys,
Reporting back after 18 months !
Last week I had my annual eye test ! Several weeks late, but it seems that everything medical is taking much longer nowadays.
I had a growing clouding in my left eye that was starting to bother me somewhat. I was going to mention this during the eye checks, but the optician had seen this and took pictures, which he showed me, and said that I was developing a fungal/microbial growth on the sac that contains the lens that was inserted. Apparently most cataract patients do eventually develop this clouding, but it can take from months to years or never.
This week, yesterday, eight days later I had to go back to the Eye Hospital for Laser surgery to have the clouding growth removed ! Quite a surprise ! from sitting in front of the examination Laser machine to having the treatment done, it took no more than two minutes. Of course the pre-op treatment with the drops in your eyes took up nearly an hour.
For me the effect of the Laser treatment was immediate ! Everything is much brighter and clear now on that side. I've been discharged back to my opticians for a further eye check.Best Regards:

That is good news John, having to wear glasses is bad enough, let alone having cataracts and then getting fungal growths on your replacement lenses. In many ways we live in a fortunate time with many technological advances greatly improving our lives, and from your description, I gather that your treatment is just such an example. I hope that you continue to enjoy good vision without the need for further future tune ups, and are able to enjoy your workshop activities unhindered.

Hi Rob, thanks for your good wishes and kind remarks !
I was quite surprised at the speed that the optician arranged for Laser treatment ! Eight days might be a record, although I've already had a text with an appointment date in a couple of weeks for a new eye test.Best Regards:
