When I click on the item I want to buy, they then want to charge me postage.

Possibly there are restrictions on the postcodes/regions to which the 'fast n free' delivery applies.
That's the joy of fine print, and the site permitting the fine print to be so fine.

Is this an on Australian ebay from an Australian address, or Australian Ebay with an overseas address or an Overseas Ebay shipping from an overseas adress?
I would bet where it comes from has a big bearing on whether it is fast and free.
Have you got a sample link?

It must be based on your postcode, unfortunately, my postcode is free but yours comes back as $50.00.
