Waldown Toolpost Grinder - Collet type Internal spindle.
I am after a Collet type spindle to suit a C1 grinder, the spindle model number is C1-C. It takes 1/8 and 1/4" collets.
Also an Internal Long Reach spindle, model number C1-E

Lex, I don't know if this will help because I don't know what the spindle thread is on a C-1 but the C-O with its 3/8"UNF thread enables the fitting of Dumore collet chucks. I bought the chucks new from the States to fit the Dumore 44 TPG I have.

Thanks for the information Bob, the C1 has a 1/2" Unf thread on the external spindle, do Dunmore make a collet chuck in that size? How do you lock the chuck onto the threaded spindle and does it run nice and true?

Lex,
I'm not sure about Dumore's larger grinders. They have interchangeable spindles whereas the 44 doesn't hence the accessory collet chucks. The chucks tighten against a spacer and the 1/4" chuck runs truer than the 1/8. Neither are perfect. Comes down to dressing the stone.
This might be too large to be a consideration but.... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...698d18026PGfCW

Yes, one of those would probably do the job although I am worried about how much runout they have especially considering the high speed required for a small mounted point. Some of the reviews do mention excessive runout.

I have ordered a ER25 1/2 UNF version and it is on its way to Perth. My application is for a proposed milling spindle for use on my Hercus lathe's vertical milling slide and runout would be less of an issue than if it was mounted on a grinder spindle.
I will let you know how good or bad it is when it rolls up.

Just thinking Lex... how about a Dremel chuck mounted on a 1/2-20 adapter in a similar fashion to the Dumore ? You could cut the chuck's thread with the adapter mounted on the C-1 spindle to ensure concentricity.

That's another option Bob, although I would like to use 1/4" shanks mounted points as well.
