Default Press V block and knife blade to purchase

HI all, looking for a piece of brake press V block and knife blade or a V bottom edge, to buy, about 100mm long or thereabouts. If anyone has some that is/are no longer required or know of some for sale please PM me. Wanting it to press 1.2mm sheet metal, so it doesn't need to be a very wide V, probably about 20mm should be fine.
I keep looking on Gumtree etc, to no avail.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kryn

Had one (not kincrome brand) for some time and it comes in handy.

    Hi Kyrn,

How about a piece of earth moving bucket cutting edge. They are often a bolt -on replaceable and often the whole set is replaced.

Sometimes the vertical strips-the ones on the side are in pretty good nick.

If some one has a piece of laying about. I thought I had a good piece but Mrs Clean up fairy has been operating out of bounds and I suspect it went to the tip.

Thanks Michael, I have seen them, unfortunately there's not enough room in my vise to operate that set up, planning on mounting it under an arbour press.

Thanks Grahame, I hadn't thought about using an earth moving blade.
Next door has a few graders and dozers parked there, I wonder if they'd miss a piece???
    Thanks again,
    Kryn

For my little 6T Supercrap press I made up a quick and dirty set about the length you are after.

3 pieces of angle iron (Probably 30x30x5 from memory) laid out in an upside down W shape and welded together as the bottom die, and a piece of flat bar ground to the knife shape.
    Worked well.

Hi Steve, done that one, I use it for thicker flat bar, 4mm+. Sheet metal doesn't come out as nice in it. Did the last batch of 30 in the hydraulic folder, but it took ages, 2hrs, and still weren't great.
What I'm trying to achieve, is like a brake press, with an edge that will keep it square and with an adjustable stop, as what I'm making has 2 bends in each piece. The first bend is 15mm in from the edge and bent right over and flattened, (a safety edge) then 120mm from that bend a 90 degree bend.
It drops in beside the battery and winch cover, on our sheep ramps to hold the hand control for the winch.

    Hi Kyrn,
I don't know if you have done this before but its worthy of a mention.

The inside of the bend line can be scored light with a angle grinder cutter blade. One of the 1mm th. cutter discs ones works well.

The trick is to make a single, smooth, even travel speed pass of even depth.

Under a folder it bends nice and even, IF, the scoring pass is uniform across its length. If the scoring pass is irregular so is the external appearance of the bend.

I clamped a bit of flat to the bend line and ran the wheel against it.

I've seen those vise units mounted in standard presses, and reckon it wouldn't be hard to make up a mount for one in an arbour press - it'd just be a nose piece with a piece of ~20x20 square bar to mimic the vise jaw, and something similar for the bottom.
