Helo Ross - welcome to the Forum.
I can't help with the gears. I am surprised they did not come with the lathe.
I helped a friend a few years ago with repairing a Chinese made lathe that came to him in a number of boxes! The previous owner had pulled the geared head apart, and stated changing the wiring! He got the lot for $150.00! Only took three months full-time to fix it. Being retired it did not bother him, and he had a Hercus to make any bits he needed.
It was a Hare and Forbes badged lathe, but their support documentation was not of much help, and I found the same lathe advertised by Grizzly in the US. Their documentation was superb!
Therefore look at Grizzly, and anywhere else in the USA and you may find the same lathe, and perhaps the gears you want. I would be surprised if you didn't.
See this thread on the Forum for information about the gears your lathe:

Regards,
Alan.

I have the necessary M1.25 cutters. I could cut some if I knew the bore etc.

Michael, I have an AL960B, I'll measure the bore and width later today and post the details.
If you end up making the 32 & 40 tooth gears (which are the standard kit supplied with the lathe) it might be worth making a 28T gear as well. That way he'll be able to cut a 1.75mm pitch thread which the standard gears will not cater for. A group of us had some of those made back in 2011.
If you need to borrow the gears to assist in the making, let me know.

As standard, the AL960B should have 2 x 40T, 1 x 30T, 1 x 32T and the 120/127T gears. We added the 28T to enable 1.75 and 3.5 pitch threading (28-127/120-32 A6=3.5, B6=1.75).
If you are making gears Michael, the bore is 18 mm, the width is 10 mm. The keyway is 5 mm wide x 2.5 mm deep.

Ross 971,
Its up to you to contact Michael.
If you are not sure how to make private contact with him, all that's required is to PM him is to left click on his name in the left hand top cnr of the post.
In the box that will appear click on "Send PM".
Its a huge favor he is doing for you,or will do. Better to do as much as you can, to set him up so he does not have to chase you to do a favor for you.
Normally most people would have thanked him for just for making the offer.
A bit of gratitude and courtesy goes a long way.

Hi Ross,
I don't own an iPhone and have never used a mobile phone of any version to contact then MetalWork Forums.
Hopefully a member who has an iPhone may be able to help you with advice.
Sorry that's all I can do to help. As I understand the original Forum template was set up for computer not for mobile phones. That said the system has been cobbled to adapt so its not perfect.
