Old lathe
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a metal lathe to get started as a hobby, but i'd rather buy an older machine once, rather than a cheap one twice.
I'd like a solid vintage lathe, like a Sheraton/Colchester/Atlas etc etc.
Does anyone have something they are looking to sell (preferably in QLD) ?
Budget up to 3k
Thanks,
-

If it were me I'd delete Atlas from your list and replace it with Hercus, South Bend or something similar. I don't have an Atlas lathe and have never used one, but FWIW they do have a bad reputation on American forums for lacking the rigidity needed for good work.
