22 mm Slitting Saw Arbor
Have watched Ausee and M & G for the last few months waiting for 22 mm slitting saw arbors to come into stock - still nothing.
They seem to be rare everywhere.
Next search will be on UK/European sites.
Prefer a NT30 fitting, but parallel shank (20 mm max) is fine.
Any reasonable price paid.
Keep well,
John.

I looked everywhere for one of these. I was after a 16mm and a 22mm arbor with a NT30 taper, for use with gear cutters. In the end, I found a place in Qld, ETS Engineering supplies. STUB MILL ARBOR NT30 X 22MM, Stub Mill Arbor - Engineering Tooling Supplies They have shipped me the 16mm version, but the 22mm version is on back order. Things out of China are very slow at the moment, but they tell me I will get it in around 2 weeks. The 16mm one that has arrived looks ok. I was surprised at how long it is (a lot longer than the photo on their web site) - good, I suppose for versatility, but maybe a rigidity problem if you mount the cutter too far out from the taper end. Anyway, give them a call and see if they can help. The other mob I tried was Chevpac Machinery NZ Ltd. They had the goods, but postage and exchange rate were going to add a fair bit to the cost. Cheers, Tony

Tony.
Thanks for the link.
Ordered one (they show as " in-stock"), but I am sure I will also get the delay.
Really pleased it is NT30, the 16 mm arbor I have is 12 mm shank, it works but not ideal.
I have a fairly complete set of arbors for my small mill, but all MT2 arbor.
Keep well,
John.

John, pleased to be able to help. The 16mm one arrived quickly and with no fuss, but the 22mm one on back order has taken over a month - I've contacted them a couple of times and have no reason to believe they are not 'on the job'. They were as surprised as me that the shipping from China has taken so long. They reckon 2 more weeks. Fingers crossed.
Thanks too for the good wishes. Challenging times here in Melbourne....and Australia....the world. No covid in the workshop - isolation could be worse .
Cheers, Tony

If you happen to already have an ER40 collet arbor then R8 arbors mount nicely in them. Probably not the most rigid setup ever, but I cut about 300 M1.5 teeth full depth with this setup the other day with no issues.
