    Nothing is ever simple.
I made the sockets in the A frame to fit the tube reasonably closely.
The blue tube is fine but the black one isn't square or straight so now try milling it down to fit better
Its 5mm wall so lose a a mil each side wont matter,
    Just extra work

I also made mine adjustable width, one end able to move in. A useful feature for getting into some spaces. But also improves load capacity.
Probably should have done that on the bolted side but this was easy. The sliding side sits on the top, the bolts just lock it in position
I liked the tube up the back and angle brackets to make sure it cant roll over.

    I have my bench back
    Surprisingly enough it actually works
The scales say 229kkg so not very heavy but more than this old bugger can lift.

It rolls very nicely on the big soft wheels
The column can have a rest on the base while the next bits get made

A fair bit of welding is next on the agenda, finish these bits off before starting the base.
The X-Y interface, for want of a better title, needs a lot more steel gluing on so that's next

and then the spindle mounting parts can be finished up now that i have the corrected pieces of steel

The pile of parts is getting bigger
I welded up the spindle mounts and roughly machined the excess welds down a bit.
After the heat treat the bore needs boring and facing so will finish the cleanup then

The big tubes are on the bench and are awaiting some effort.
Its so bloody hot and i like to do the grinding outside so that may get delayed till i come back from O/S.
i fly out Next Monday night and the weather looks like bloody hot until i am gone.
If it drops off a bit then i will do what i can but no rush

Weights so far are about 420KG for the pile of parts on the stand
The big tubes will get weighed when they are all stuck together
