Brierley ZB25 drill grinder
I'm starting a rebuild on a Brierley ZB25 drill grinder. I've gotten it from a guy who I'm sure was flogging off bits and bobs from the great GMH closure at Elizabeth in SA. The unit looked in fair condition but filthy with grinding dust.
So far I've dismantled it into its various sections and have started with the base.
The base has been grit blasted and I'm into the painting.
First coat is of etch primer followed by epoxy enamel. IMG_20221203_072137.jpgIMG_20221203_071830.jpg
Casting marks set in underside of base.

Using a ZB25.
Hello from Brisbane.
I have been using a ZB25 for a few years and only found out I was using the rong cam for drills. A customer has one and his instructions state the No 4 cam is for jobber drills. I was using the No 1. The chuck wasn't alligned correctly. It was working but not well.
Keep us in the loop.

Hi steamloco1954, a no 1 cam is red, it is for lefthand tooling.
I have number 2,4,6,8,10 cams which should all be painted green these are the right-hand cams for right-hand tools.
Cheers Alby
