Made up a couple of air baffles and bolted them into the cabinet, suction outlet pipe screw on and flitted most of the air line parts. Going to use a electric air valve and have a push switch to operate the air instead of a foot switch, the push switch is set just above my knee, do any you guys know were a good place to place the earth wire to for the air valve

What voltage is the solenoid operating at? That determines what happens with the earth wire.
Where does the other end go? Im assuming to the box the switch is in and attached to the box itself?

Hi TB,
Since you have other electrical items in your cabinet, the whole cabinet should be earthed ! In which case a nut & bolt through the metalwork would earth the air valve. Even though a lot of stuff nowadays is supposed to be double insulated, it doesn't preclude having a good earth !Best Regards:

Then you need to attach it to the frame and cabinet
Also expect that you may experience nuisance tripping of any RCD that is feeding that circuit if you get a static build up through the dust extraction or media suction pipes.

Hi TB,
Yes you do need a clean connection to the earthed frame ! But I'm a bit concerned by the circuit breaker tripping out when you apply power. You need to find out why its tripping out !
The whole idea of having an earthed frame/chassis is to protect you in case of an electrical fault that could make the equipment live. This means that the fuse/circuit breaker removes the supply voltage rather than the supply voltage going through you !!!Best Regards:

Is the circuit breaker tripping for earth leakage or overload?

Hi TB,
If the the earth wire from the mains lead is correctly wired in the mains plug then connecting it to the chassis/frame will provide the earth connection irrespective of the wheels.
I assume that the mains plug is not a moulded on one, in which case you need to check that it is wired correctly.
Here in the UK green&yellow is the earth wire, brown is live, on old wiring it used to be red, blue is neutral. Again on old wiring it used to be black.
Connection wise, the mains live wire should go to one side of the switch, one of the valve wires would go to the other side of the switch. The other valve wire should go to the mains neutral wire. That will allow the switch to turn the valve on and off.
Take care 240 volts is dangerous and can easily kill you so make sure that when you are playing about with the wiring it is not plugged in !
