Default Mystery Project. What is this???

So, assuming its OK with the Moderators,
I'd like to create this thread as a sort of visual guessing game.

(instead of filling up the "Your latest project!" thread)

I'll start one off with just photos, because the machining steps are pretty obvious.

Convert a chewed up stepped pulley into a pipe/tube center.

    Good suggestion, Grahame.

It certainly started as a chewed up old stepped pulley,

but there's no bearing in it (and machining of the shaft a bit rough to fit one on),
    so not a pipe centre.

And then there is that strange radial slit that seems to hold some emery cloth???

A conical sander, but I can't think what you would use it for. I did just think of this though - you have a Cox ride on mower and your going to use the conical sander to dress the clutch discs while you have the motor running and the rear of the mower off the ground.

Stewart and lamestllama are close. Here it is being used:

    IMG_1907.jpg IMG_1910.jpg IMG_1912.jpg

on a Holden 186, and an Austin 7, engine block.

Basically, after cylinder boring, there is always a sharp lip that would damage the rings. Vintage Engine guy has tried hand deburrer, tiny little cutter on a Dremel, gentle die grinder, the clamp-in and hand-crank lip cutters, and careful fileing. This hand held "tool" does each bore in about 3 seconds, and will probably do a 7L tractor diesel.

So, 200 points to lamestllama, and 500 to steran50 for the ride-on mower clutch idea

    Default Second mystery...

Throw a stainless off-cut (from a Chemset anchor bolt) into the Hercus,
add a 5/16 end mill, and do some machining:

(initial drilling, and final parting off, not shown)

    What is it for???

No guesses this time. The shape must be too uninteresting.

Not uninteresting but not recognized readily.

Perhaps there are not too many about, who have a need to press terminals into their PC boards.
