Reworking the Zerks
I had having problems replacing damaged 1/4 inch zerk oilers on my lathe.
I brought some from a E-bay seller.
The first one was too tight and I mangled it, the second I pressed in but it was too long and restricted topslide travel.
I could have brought Alemlube 1/4 inch fittings from E-bay for $21.30 but I need 4, and they may not have fitted.
So I brought 20 6mm brass oilers from Alibaba for $5.00 and modified them to suit.
Once off the lathe I silver soldered them together, the white stuff covering the ball is old fashioned liquid paper (Kryptonite for solder).

Thanks, I learnt something. Had no idea silver solder could be dammed with Liquid paper.

Good work - I’d have taken the chicken (loctite) option
Any issues with the springs after the silver soldering?

Soldering
Steve I used a Weller 51D soldering station, cranked up to 45 watts and had no problems with the spring and ball mechanism.
I've done 3 so far
