Small hand operated version of Norton Brake.

I finished this using a 105 dia. Norton 36 grit wheel I bought ~ 30 years ago, placing it in the "Might come in handy 1 day" cupboard. I needed something to dress Vitreous Diamond wheels and this should do the initial part of the trick. YT Video by Alfred Lyon explains it: Dressing a diamond wheel - YouTube.MP4

Looks good. I understand the proper Norton brake dressers have some sort of centrifugal brake clutch arrangement - assuming with yours you’re just going to slow the dresser wheel down slightly by hand?
Pretty sure that video is the same one I watched a few days back and he also refers to the hand held “spinners” for freehand dressing.

That's right, Steve. I think the real Brake has a centrifugal friction inside the big hand wheel but that is just a guess. Mine will be slowed down by hand when required.
