Not much of a update here, i cut down the work bench as i will need room once the trike is on wheels and i can roll it out.

Made up a couple of 1/4 inch tubes for the oiling system for the pinon bearings. And Finish off all the welding on the rear end of the frame and clean up for paint.

Well the diff housing is bent just a bit from all that welding, as you can see that aluminum plug should slide in without any interference. I can get them to fit but the 30mm rod is very hard to spin. So i found out the hard way, the right side of the axel when bolt down in the housing was fine and could spin the rod and i tried the left side no go it would bind and would not spin at all. So lessons learnt. I don't have oxy acetylene so tried LPG touch that was useless. I know a local engineering place not to far from me who can help me out, but because of our stupid government of victoria we are still in lock down. So nothing i can do at the moment.

What about a bead of weld on the side you want to bend it too ?
Is a trick that has been many times to straighten diff housings after shortening, using either mig or arc.

Yeah i was thinking of that method but will go with the heating with oxy and acetylene. I can work on other projects while waiting for his Lordship to ease more on restrictions. A couple of pics of what needs to be set up for straighten the diff housing.

Turbs the tube is fairly thin so you probably will be able do it with your lpg torch, get a bucket of water and spot heat and then quench with a rag drenched with water. Do this several times along the side of the tube want shorten to pull the end where you want it to be.
I have used this technique several times with oxy/acet on much thicker material and it works well, the lpg might not get it hot enough but it would be worth a shot.....

Hi shed, yeah i tried it a couple of times with the lpg torch the tube just springs back. I know Geoffrey at Lilydale Engineering the guys there will be able to help me out. It's a bugger they are 3 kms out of my 5 kms zone, just have to be patient in the meantime i have other jobs to do.

I found the large gas touch and that thing fix the diff housing, all good the wheel are spinning Got a couple of second hand tyres and new caps and finally got the trike on it's wheels. I think a 19 inch front rim will do, i was thinking 18 inch rim but with a 19 inch rim i can adjust the forks to make the trike level. And started work on the exhaust stack.

Been a while, had to spend some money on the house some things need to be repaired. Been trying out tig welding not good, will keep at it,i have been looking around for a front wheel for the trike no luck here in AUS so got one from the US, not a bad price for it the rim and discs are in excellent condition for it's age. And got a new tyre fitted. Have some brake calipers on the way from the US as well with all the hoses, bolts, master cylinder, ect. . The trike sits a bit high for my liking, just have to live with it.

Almost done with the duct work and engine mounts, just tack weld this short piece of ss tube for now need to make sure every thing is OK before i weld it all up, you can see i had to cut one end on a slight angle because had trouble getting the engine line up straight in the frame because the frame is a little bit bent it will work. I have some shim sheets to use to get the hole duct assembly set at the right height i machine slots in the engine base plates so i can move the the engine and duct work in and out as the NGV is a slip joint once the duct work heats up the NGV will lock itself in place.
