Nice work, huge effort! You'll get a kick out of using that machine every time.

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

Thanks for the likes and the encouraging comments. It's been a huge project, started off slowly two years ago but it feels like I've done nothing but work on this in every spare hour for months now. I have other projects either needing finishing or needing starting but this one has put everything else off the table. And yes I'm loving using it.

You did a very nice job of it. I think you'll find that the combination of the rigidity & geared power feeds of the Vicky mill and the ease of use plus quill of a B/port J head make a great combination. I've been planning on doing the same thing for years now, just there's always been other projects in the queue with higher priority.

Wow there is some work in that, absolutely great job and well documented.
I know from posting projects of mine how much time and effort goes into taking photos and writing it all up, thanks.

Some years ago I designed something similar but a lot less complicated to raise my mill head using 16,25 and 32mm plate, M16 bolts etc and just yesterday looking for something else I came across a bag of M16 bolt's. After a bit of head scratching I remembered I bought them for my mill project, I just need to chase up the plate again.
After moving 5 times in 7 years I am now settled again in my own home and can go ahead with projects.

Seeing this has inspired me to go ahead with it. I was a bit worried about using steel instead of cast, but as you have shown it works fine.
