Machining dovetail straight edge
I need to make a dovetail straight edge out of some cast iron bar.
Is anyone in Adelaide interested in milling the flat & bevel faces? Or recommend a business that might do it for reasonable price.
The plan is to scrape it flat after machining (and possibly grinding) so it can be used as a master to check cross slide ways on my hercus.
It will be approximately 350mm long & about 50mmx30mm with approx 50degree beveled edge for the dovetails. I have a piece of cast iron that I will roughly cut to shape with bandsaw. Machining required is square up the faces and cut the bevel.
Thanks

You'll need to supply some more detail, like how long and whether you are going to finish scrape it or are you looking for an off tool finish good enough (and possibly what are you using it for - it may need to be scraped)

That will fit on my mill so potentially I could do that for you.
