Default Cutting gears for old machines

    Hello from Steamloco.
Anybody on here up to cutting worm wheels for a 4 start pinion?
I'm trying to repair an old Kearns type S borer.

A picture/s and some more details would help a lot, please? Not that I'm looking at doing it, (a bit challenging for me), but others may assist you.

I'd be surprised if there are many people here with the equipment to do that.

Default Cutting gears for old machines

    need a worm wheel-sam_0543-jpgHello Kryn.
As asked for a photo of the offending worm wheel. I did find a retired gear cutter in NZ but with my luck down he had passed away. The difficulty is the high helix angle due to the 4 start worm.
    Any takers?
