    Default Webb Lathe Toowoomba

Little known on this little lathe. "Webb Toowoomba" on the side as part of the casting.
A Trove search shows there were a Webb Engineering in Toowoomba back in the 50's though no reference to lathe manufacture...

It looks a lot like a Drummond, maybe they licenced the design?

There's a possibility. Drummond were used as a basis for several brands.

Another possibility is it were a one-off home made. Toowoomba were a big foundry and machine shop town back in the day so there would have been many people with the ability to borrow a mates Drummond lathe and cast a copy.

The lathe do have a factory built feel to it though as some of the casting lines were only roughly ground off. I'm guessing 1940's to 1950's made.
