    Default Tulloch Lathe ?

One I hadn't heard of before, an Australian made 'Tulloch' lathe is on Gumtree: Metal lathe | Miscellaneous Goods | Gumtree Australia Greater Taree Area - Taree | 1135863139

No mention that I could find of a Tulloch lathe on Trove ?

There is info in the book "Tulloch : a history of Tulloch Engineers & Manufacturers : Pyrmont & Rhodes". They didn't make them for very long and i think they sold off that division. I will have a look in the book when I have time.

Just had a read of the Plough book sales review. looks like an interesting read. Plough Book Sales: Tulloch A History of Tulloch Engineers & Manufacturers Pyrmont & Rhode

"Robert Tulloch arrived in Sydney from the Orkney Islands in 1877 with virtually nothing and managed to get a job as a boilermaker with the Atlas Foundry and Engineering Company. He then branched out on his own in 1883, when he started Robert Tulloch and Company and so began an engineering dynasty that was to contribute much to the development of Sydney, New South Wales and Australia..."

You are describing two items there so i'd suggest removing chuck from back plate and see what lays behind - it may be self evident..
