Old school Tillco lathe
Went to a "country rodeo" on the weekend staying with family at the Nieces place 470km north of Perth.
The niece's family owns large grain producing areas up there and they just bought a 5000 acre farm with a machinery graveyard. The previous owner is supposed to come and get his stuff but it's looking less likely all the time.
There are dozens of tractors and a few sheds like this one on the property.

Its basically junk but there were a few interesting things amongst it probably the most interesting being this old Tillco lathe.
According to lathes.co.uk it's around 100 years old, has a 33" swing

Full set of screw cutting gears

Headstock gears still looked OK

carriage and cross slide still moved

Way to big for my shed.
Anyone else know much about these?
