Hello folks. New guy here but not at all new to the machinist trade. Started way back in 66 sweeping the floor for 90 cents an hour. Twas a small shop and the owner took a liking to me and taught me the basics and beyond. I liked the trade then and still like it now. I will admit that I am old school and prefer manual machining. I have a Haas TL-1 lathe and a DynaMyte DM2800 CNC mill but even they are pretty basic compared to the machinery of today. To me satisfaction is as important or more important than profit. I've worked full time in a basement shop 8 miles outside of a small rural town since 1983. I'll be posting from time to time and offer a good cup of coffee and a tour of the shop to any of you traveling North Eastern America. By the way, nice site you have here.

Hi Bob,
Welcome to the forums. We are most happy to have you join our ranks.
I am sure your years of machining experience will be well valued by our members if or when choose to to respond to machining how to questions.
Be aware though, that many of us have a sense of quirky sense of humor sometimes not understood by non aussies.
We look forward to hearing about operations in your shop/s over the years.
Welcome
Grahame
