old newbie first post
gday all, thought i better post something so the mods dont think i am a bot . i am a old , " mostly self taught" metalworker/jack of all trades , but master of none . i recently upgraded from my old rexman lathe to a hafco lathe and then to a harrison 190 lathe , which i am converting to 240 volt , which i would like to ask some questions about in the near future when i get "postage rights" . i read the threads on machinery a bit and find them very informative. i joined the forum because of this and because it is australian, [at least i think it is ] . happy australia day...dennis ..from n/e victoria

G'day Dennis
Yes, it is an Australian based forum although we have a leavening of international members.
From what I remember, the first 10 posts are moderated, so there may be a slight delay in them appearing but there is nothing stopping you making them or asking questions. We have members dotted around the place so you may even find someone nearby if you need more help than can be delivered via the screen. Many who put themselves in that 'self-taught' bucket too, so can understand some of the issues you may strike.

Welcome aboard, Dennis.
From a central Victorian.... Bendigo.
It might help if you edit your location to roughly where you are, rather than just Australia. Makes it easier for "neighbours" to get in touch for face to face support or materials, if ever required.Cheers, Joe
