Default GMF MM1A Grinder Shaft Thread

Hi I’m Bob, I’m a retired electronics and communications technician. I arrived at this forum looking for information on the shaft thread size for a GMF MM1A grinder 1944/5 vintage, in order to purchase a taper shaft (or a pair of them, left and right thread). searching the internet I gather the thread could be either BSF or Whitworth, the shaft outside thread diameter is 15.5 – 15.8 mm/0.61 - 0.622 inch I would appreciate thread information on the above mentioned grinder if anyone can help. The local tool suppliers only carry metric tapers,
    Thanks in anticipation.

so a 5/8" BSF will be 14 teeth per inch, a 5/8" WW will be 11 teeth per inch.

    Gday Bob.
Can you post up a pic of your GMF grinder?
I have an old one which I reckon would be of that vintage. Happy to measure the thread tomorrow (just have to remember to do it).
    regards

    My old grinder.
It was old when I got it in 1976. I put new bearings in it then and painted it.
Actually thinking about painting it again, but don't want to make a hasty decision on that.
