A friendly "GUTEN TAG" from Austria (you know, the one lacking the "L")
Obviously German has to be spelled in capital letters, spoken with a weird accent, very loud and wearing a monocle.
The name's Greg, engineer/machinist by trade originally, even though nowadays I am making sure my hairy backside is planted firmly on a hard stool at university. I love building bikes, especially sidecars and I have a little blog of mine called https://greasygreg.blogspot.com . Aside from building stainless exhaust and doing shenanigans with turbo-chargers strapped to motorcycles I run a (Knuth-branded - gotta love them German's, eh?) 6x26 mill and Coronet/Rhino PLN-5 and the lathe is what brought me to this forum. As the user TomW apparently has bought one of these in 2013. I've owned mine since I dragged it out of a very moist barn, which mostly inhabited chicken and rats, in 2018.

It's admitted not looking a whole lot better, when it comes to paint, but the bed and all ways have been de-rusted and the electrical motor swapped twice. Nowadays rocking a single-phase 1.5kW 1400rpm motor, which suits the machine just fine.

Stainless exhausts and turbochargers? Wow.
How would you deal with the oil return on a turbocharged bike?
(assuming the turbo is in front and down low)

Well the turbo is half-height and on the side, so I've got a solid 80-100mm above oil-level at the very least, so gravity is easily sufficient to drain the turbo. If it weren't, a scavenge pump would be my go-to choice. Ideally take a small bike's oilpump and drive that from the crank and pump it back this way. Actually oil-volume and -pressure management were the two things that caused me the most headache initially but turned out to be "no big deal".

In 1989, while living in the US, I visited Austria and bought a T-shirt with "There are no Kangaroos in Austria" on the front and back.
This was obviously a tease to US tourists who apparently often asked where the kangaroos were.
This was also most valuable to me because I wore it often in the US because many of the locals confused Austria and Australia.

A few years ago, when I started building the very first iteration of the Turbo bike, I bought a Mikuni VM44 carburettor in the US, because due to a cheaper base price and a (for me) favourable exchange rate. I admit, I had planned for a few weeks of headroom, but when the carb didn't arrive after 4 weeks I got a bit worried, because if it had gotten stuck in customs, they would have sent me a letter/e-mail that I had to provide more docs. So I went to my local post-office and they checked the international transport records and the lady behind the counter burst out in laughter and said: Well, if you want to meet your carb in person, I hear Sydney post office is quite lovely this time of the year! Took about another month until it arrived.
