Bought a Hercus 9 inch - Any Help welcome
Hello fellow forum members
Since as a young boy I watched a friend's grandfather turn things on a metal lathe I have been fixated on the skill.
I have recently bought a Hercus Model A 9 inch but admit I know nothing about where to start
I have Peter Hercus' great book and the Southbend booklets but what I really want is the opportunity to talk to users and watch their practice
I live in the ACT Australia and am happy to travel to have a chat. Hope there are some guys out there willing to help
Cheers
Tony

Welcome to the forum. Lots of us have Hercus 9". (including me)
Am sure somebody from ACT or nearby will be along shortly.
There is a special Hercus subforum - worth a look around.
What tools / accessories did you get with your lathe ?

Might be worth approaching a mens shed or two? At our shed we were lucky for a few years to have a bloke in his eighties with almost 70 years of turning experience under his belt. Fantastic to watch, so skilful. A real pity he's no longer around, he hasn't passed away but he's no longer able to come in.

Hi Tony welcome to the MetalWorkForums.
As was mentioned we have a dedicated Hercus Forum.
You can reach it and see all our other goodies by :
GOTO the FORUM box in the top LH corner of this page. Click the down arrow to get the pulldown menu.
At the top of the pulldown is Forum Home page. Click that and it will open a scroll down page with all the various areas of our forum.
The Hercus forum page is about 20 titles down.
Welcome to the MetalWork Forums.
